We invite you to join us . . . .

. . . for a transformative retreat with a caring community of  women and men.  The theme of this weekend will be "discovering our spiritual gifts". Each of us has unique spiritual gifts, and these gifts represent the most immediate pathway to intimacy with Spirit, self, and others. It is our task to discover and embrace them. The weekend will help us to name and understand our gifts and learn to use them both in spiritual practice and in our relationships.
God (Goddess, Higher Power) is the primal heart, the source of all love. When we open to love in our lives, we are pulled into the amazing orbit of God. When we engage in spiritual practice, our hearts soften and we intuitively find ways to claim love, even amidst the bewildering maze of human ambivalence.
The practices taught in this weekend are gathered from a wide range of ancient and modern approaches, both spiritual and psychological. There will be a range of spiritual practices and brief lectures on intimacy and spirituality by Ken Page.  Master yoga teacher Catherine Scaffidi will weave deep and very gentle yoga practice into the entire fabric of the weekend, (non-strenuous, user-friendly and suitable for all levels), and will guide us in the use of these practices to reach deeper states of spiritual and emotional attunement.   Jimie Blair will lead us in j
oyful singing, with songs that speak a universal language of spirituality.  Catherine Scaffidi will also lead us in morning yoga.
Women and Men of all religions and spiritual backgrounds are welcome!

Spiritual practice is the "axe that breaks the frozen sea within us."  Embedded in each of our souls is an ancient, profound longing for love.  As our hearts begin to thaw, this longing is released and healing insights about our lives unfold naturally.  Through gentle but powerful processes, we will work with these insights as invaluable personal lessons in our journeys toward love.

Our weekend will take place at the Garrison Institute, a magnificent state-of-the-art conference center and spiritual think-tank in Garrison, NY, about an hour north of New York City

Situated on the banks of the
Hudson River
, it includes 95 acres of park-like grounds, with a gazebo overlooking the river.

Delicious food, public lounges, exquisite large Jacuzzis, and lovely accommodations will all be included in the cost of the weekend.

In addition to the structured processes, there will also be time for chatting and relaxing, and for walks on the Institute's beautiful grounds.

About the Faculty

KEN PAGE, CSW, is a psychotherapist, workshop leader and lecturer. He is the director of a number of well-known GBT men's spiritual retreats including the Rowe Labor Day Retreat, and the Spring Retreat For GBT Men.  He is also the founder of Deeper Dating ( www.deeperdating.com). His mission  is to assist in the creation of a joyful and living spirituality, based upon following one's unique inner promptings toward  authenticity and intimacy. Ken is also the proud father of five-year-old David Page.

CATHERINE SCAFFIDI, MS Ed, is a yoga teacher, massage therapist, Reiki Master and psychotherapist.  She combines these disciplines in an integrative approach to healing.  Her goal is to create a safe environment that enables people to experience their true peaceful nature.  She has been a student of Integral Yoga since 1976.  She lives in Central Pennsylvania.

JIMIE BLAIR has been singing all his life.  He grew up with the church and with church music, singing in choirs from early childhood until now.  He has been a member of Unity Fellowship Church for over 11 years.  When he moved to New York, he became a member of the Unity Choir, and is now a member of the "Praise Team" --- a group of five people personally selected by Bishop Zachary G. Jones, founder of Unity Fellowship Church, to usher in each service.  Jimie feels deeply that God sees each one of us as his special children, and his mission is to convey this through both words and action . . . .  to everyone he meets, and to LGBT people everywhere.

JONATHAN P. EDWARDS is a Consumer Affairs Coordinator for the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation and is pursuing a Master of Social Work degree at the Hunter College School of Social Work.  Mr Edwards has had a passion for music since an early age.  His many musical endeavors include seven years as a baritone in the Canterbury Choral Society at the Church of Heavenly Rest.  "I believe that music in its manifold expression breathes life into each being and every culture."

DOUG BOLTSON is a long-time student of bodywork/movement therapies, and counts among his contemplative practices playing piano and sharing healing touch; his most recent somatic explorations
include Body Rolling and Bones for Life. A computer professional by day, Doug's playful analogue nature aspires to humanize an increasingly digital world.  Themes he is guided by include gravity, breath, humor, unheard melodies, and intimate contact. A supporter of Ken Page's Deeper Dating workshops in New York City, Doug looks forward to assisting you with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your stay at the Garrison Institute.

Comments from Past Participants

“It was a soulful experience — full of all the mystery and wonder that we talked about time and time again.  Our gay family is fragmented and spiritually hungry - the chance to spend such intimate time with so many beautiful souls was — and is — life altering.”

“A very safe, loving, caring, open atmosphere. I feel blessed that I was part of this weekend and feel full of love for myself like I never have before.”

“The Garrison Institute is the nicest place I have ever encountered on a retreat. The accommodations and food are wonderful, and the view of the Hudson River is a perfect setting for outdoor meditations and walks."

"Ken Page brings to his workshops and lectures two exceptional qualifications.  The first is an extraordinarily developed affective spiritual and prayer life which give his insights into spiritual developement a very personal authenticity.
The second is a superb understanding of the processes of psychic and spiritual growth toward maturity.  The combination of these two qualities are hallmarks of an authentic teacher of spirituality." - John J. McNeill, author of The Church and the Homosexual; Both Feet Planted Firmly in Mid-Air; Freedom Glorious Freedom, and Taking a Chance on God.

"Ken Page is a soulful and gentle man who creates circles of mindfulness with wisdom and healing skillfulness." - David Greenan, Director, the Minuchin Center for the Family; and co-author of Couple Therapy with Gay Men
